The second vintage of a Bordeaux blend out the Estate is a showcase of our newer blocks planted in 2015. This blend was built from the ground up, selecting some of our favorite clones of Cabernet—33 and 6 in this blend—and other familiar varietals with the help of Dick Boushey, our vineyard manager since 2008 and brings with him 35+ years of grape growing experience. The large share of Petit Verdot brings some tannin and power to this blend and adds some wonderful green peppercorn spice to the aroma; we get plum and blueberry as well. The palate exhibits a similar silky tannin structure that we see from our Estate Cabernet with cherry, strawberry, and baking spices. It’s an extremely well layered and complex wine. Drink now with a good 30+ minute decant or through 2040.
