Optu, Latin for “the best” or “optimum”, is a best of the best left bank Bordeaux style blend. This blend has served as our flagship at Fidélitas since our first vintage in 2000. Our winemaking team flags specific barrels while tasting through some of our most premium blocks, saving a couple here and there, destined for this reserve blend showcasing the finest juice and style of the vintage. On the aroma we get black cherry, black pepper, and plum. The palate is rich and ripe with loads of red and black fruit — strawberry, raspberry, and vanilla bean. This is a well-balanced blend and a very versatile food pairing wine. Drink now through 2040.
